Form 16 shows more salary than actually received

Form 16 shows more salary but actually less salary is received from the company. The return was filed showing more salary which was as per form 16 and 26AS but not actually received in account. Now i wish to revise the return showing less salary which was actually received. I wanted to get the form 16 also rectified from the company but form 16 cannot be revised since the company is liquidated. Firstly, what are the remedies available in case the company is liquidated and form 16 cannot be revised? To whom can we approach in case we want to get the form 16 rectified? Can i file revised return showing lesser salary? Will i get any notice since the salary in revised return will not match with the salary shown in Form 16 and form 26AS?
