hi, can I download previous years for 16 form the gov site.

pls advice

Assessee can get the details from form 26AS, which is available for download at any time.

but in form 26 AS gross salary will be available there for the year

Form 16 can only be downloaded and issued by your employer.

Any individual cannot download his / her Form 16.
There is a common misconception that an individual can download Form 16 on TRACES website using the PAN number. All salaried individuals are eligible to get a Form 16 from their employers.

and also there is liability of employer to download form 16 of employees within 15 days of due date of TDS return and issues to employee.

if violation then has to pay penalty of 100 per day
