FOREING REMITTANCE AND TAXATION

Tax queries 393 views 1 replies

I would like to be guided on the correct authority as per which the foreign remittance

from a NRI to a relative /father/father-in-law is exempted from income tax by a

resident indian who is receiving it in India. Also if there is any limit to the amount

and if there is any specified purpose of utilisation . What could be the procedure to

claim such exemption

As per Section 6 he will not be resident in India if for employment he is out of India for 182 days or more and hence his income will not be taxable in India.
