Exmption provision

plz help me sir....

if 1 student filed form for gr-1 & appeared,got exmption in a/c -60...but dint passd dat grp in dat attempt..
while appearing both grp in nxt attempt,d excess mark of grp-1 including a/c(exmp) will b carry fwd for 2nd grp deficiency????

Eg-
if hv filed for grp 1 n hv secured 60 in a/c bt didnt clrd d grp....
in nxt ampt,me filed for both grps n secured 220(includin dat exmp 60 in a/c) n 
180 in gr-2...
wil dat exces 20 mrks in grp-1 help me in agregate of 2nd grp/passn..???
