EXCESS TAX DEPOSITED ON DEMAND

The Aseessee has paid  excess tax  on demand raised by the department for the AY 21-22. The assessee deposited demand of Rs 143350 & wrongfully same amount was entered in interest part as well, so instead of demand of Rs 143350 an amount of Rs 286700 was paid under regular assessment.

How to get the refund for the same.

Quick Summary
An assessee mistakenly paid double the tax demand, with the excess amount also being incorrectly entered as interest. This resulted in a payment of Rs 286,700 instead of the Rs 143,350 originally demanded. Unfortunately, it appears there is no straightforward way to claim a refund once the demand has been accepted and the payment processed with errors. The advice given is to challenge the demand when it is first raised and to treat this as a learning experience.

You can't. One has to challenge the demand when it's raised. You made double mistake. You accepted demand and also passed a wrong journal entry. You committed two mistakes which can't be rectified!
Take it as a learning experience and forget it.
