Email query- ca institute- final law

Final 673 views 2 replies

Email conversations with the CA Institute.

Dear Dr P. T. Giridharan,

On referring 'allied laws' in the latest edition of the study material for the CA Final course
I noticed that certain portions of the act or regulations framed thereunder are not covered.
For example appeals to SAT under SEBI, several regulations under FEMA etc.

My query is whether it would be safe to assume that they are not a part of the core syllabus and if I would face any handicap in ignoring the same,
primarily to focus on other topics that is prescribed by the institute in its study material.

An appropriate and timely reply would be highly beneficial, and help us students on concentrating what is required
I am appearing in the oncoming final examinations in November.
Your reply at the earliest would be most helpful.

Thanking You,

Regards,

The reply-

Dear Student

I appreciate and understand your concern and query.

In connection with your query, i wish to state that it is difficult to
state from our side as well for study from your side as to what adn
which of the rules, regulations that one has to take care on the
allied laws portion of the syllabus.

in view of the vastness of the subject and considering weightate of
the marks that is given for allied laws ie. 30 marks convering 9
statutes, a student may definitley find difficult in understanding and
covering the same from examination point of view.

the study material is not covering the entire rules, regulations as
the reading will become vast and material will become bulky.

in the existing circumstances, and taking into the limitations, I
would advise you to see the weightage of marks for questions that is
being asked in every examination and you may find that weightage is
between 5-8 marks only.

for these reasons, you may take FEMA as little serious and concentrate
on those rules, regulations covering current and capital account
transactions and one or two other aspects.

SEBI subject itself is very vast and concentrate on ICDR Reglations 2009.

these guidelines are not howeve authoratative and only will facilitate
to have broad understanding that how you can proceed and complete the
subject.

i wish you all the best in the forthcoming examination. Last not the
least and more important go through the Practice Manual.
