Double taxation treaty with canada
I am a NRI in Canada. If I invest in fix deposit in NRE Account in Indian banks paying above 9% interest the interest will be tax free in India. Will this interest also be tax free in Canada under the double taxation treaty since I will provide a certificate from Chartered Accountant in India that my tax return has been filed in India and all due taxes paid.
