Overall the budget is good. But why BCTT is withdrawn from 01.04.2009 and not 01.04.2008

I think FM has made good efforts. Mainly for salaried employees ,increase in the rate of STCG is also a good start as peoples are earning more through online trading and it will definitely bring more revenue.

its upto one aspect as mostly excise duty has been reduced to 4 % approx...tht means we get consumer goods at cheaper rates.. cheaper rate means more savings..more savings means more tax we hv to pay... on the other hand stcg has to hiked to 5% which means we had to pay more 15% in respect of stcg which is almost equal to our new buget tax slabs... another point to be noted tht pharma excise has been reduced upto 8% which indireclty means the medicine goes cheaper increasing our savings and decreasing our tax deduction under sec 80 d..and we had to pay tax on tht... so upto some extent it is good...

BUDGET 2008 CONSTITUTES A MINI PAY REVISION FOR SALARIED PEOPLE! THEY CAN PLAN TO INVEST SUCH EXTRA INCOME, AS THEY DERIVED FROM THE LESSER PAYMENT OF TAX, SO AS TO FECTH HIGH RETURN IN FUTURE... LET THEY SPEND MONEY, NOT TO WASTE MONEY...
