major difference between additional director and director??

Director is appointed by Members of Company at AGM / EoGM
Additional Director is appointed by Board of Directors in between two General Meetings
Directors Tenure is as per the Members Resolution
Additional Directors Tenure is upto the date of ensuing AGM

There is not much difference between Additional Director and Director. Generally, Director is to be appointed in any general meeting but when it comes to emergency, we appoint a person as additional director in the board meeting and get his appointment regularised i the subsequent general meeting or AGM.
