Confusion about conversion process from Old Course to New

Hey Friends,

There is lot many students getting misguided by rumor that we have to compulsory study material at the time of conversion. Just to inform you all my CA final friends that only those students who are looking for conversion from old to new and want new study material of new course has to pay Rs. 1100/- addressed to appropriate regional council and submitted form for conversion which can be easily obtained from icai.org. Rest of the students who don't want study material of new course just make application in own handwriting attach with said application form proofs as required by ICAI. Hi Bharat,

Thanks for the info. Two questions:

Is this optional to Convert from OLD to NEW? I believe OLD course has been abolished so one has to switch from OLD to NEW.
Do you mean, All OLD course students will be moved to NEW course by sending hand written application + the prescribed (conversion) form and payment (on account of Study material) of 1100/- is optional?

I have heard that we have to pay Rs. 1,600/- instead of Rs. 1,100/- for the modules??? Is it true??? waiting for your reply...

what we require is for conversion from old to new is :

xerox copy of old reg

xerox copy of pe2 pass certificate

xerox copy of articleship completion

dd of rs.1100 (towards cost of study material)

Hi Bharat, where did u get this imformation from? Some r saying, payment of rs.1100 is compulsary , irrespective of whether u get study material or not. please clarify the point.

hi bharat, i have confusion abt conversion process. i m old inter student means i joined in the year 2001.last time in nov 10 i gave exam in new course.i have not submitted any application. whether it is compulsory for me to apply for new course now? guide me. i m waiting for your reply. with regards ghata

Procedure adopted by the Institute in shifting CA Final (Old) course students to CA Final (New) course in order to appear in CA Final Examination to be held from May, 2011 onwards.- (04-02-2011)
