When shall the director of a company be said to be an employee of such company ?????

Executive directors such as MD or WTD or a director who is in whole time employment and managae the day-to-day affairs of the co are considered as employees of the co.
Non-Executive directors such as independent directors who are not assoicated with day-to-day management/working of the company are not considered as employees of teh co.
