ITD  trust upon assessee that which ever  is claimed in ITR is correct and as per provsion of Act.

therefore no need to submit any proof to ITD in relation to any additional claim that you have made while filing ITR.

If (,within 1 year from end of year in which you have filed your return) Assessing officer has any reason to believe that claimed made are wrong then he can make a notice to assessee to submit proof for any claim made in ITR.

if any thing is found incorrect then a penalty will be imposed upon assessee upto 100 % to 300 % of Tax sought to be evaded ie 3 times of Tax saved by wrong claiming.

same as you can travel in rail without ticket until you are not coming in the light of TTE.

When the company ( emplooyer) does not have system of HRA in payment of salary, the intelli employee want to claim HRA through tax department :) ( such way looks like the tax department system is working as principal employer for the asseesee) .............

These are fit case of manipulation of taxable income, and department is working on such subjects, in coming years such returns will be handled with vigilance eyes, where the employee failed to convince the employer about admissibility of his claims to reduce his tax burden, but  asked for relief from tax department, as employee is 365 days familier with employer, if he fails to convince him about his taxability and to revise his form 16A where TDS deducted in excess is shown as refund..........how the department would believe on the assessee?

collecting online data about investments and high value transactions is the another way to keep tight grip on returns filed with less taxable income. within coming years department will go liberal with honest tax payers and would get nightmere for evaders or manipulators.

agree with u.s sharma

What about the Conveyance Allow, can we include in deductions like HRA

you can claim 800pm*12=9600 as per income tax act

I dont know if the questioner is willfuly defaulting to declare the HRA to employer as he mentioned that he changed jobs and 1st employer didnt accept in 1st 2 months of FY, so there can be genuince cases where employers dont accept some proofs and very clearly say to get them refunded thru ITR to avoid there paper work. I know this from very big corporates and not just small companies.

Question is in ITR 1 form in efiling there is no column to shown breakdown of section 10 deductions , HRA, Conveyance  etc are all to reduced with no rationale.??
