My HRA rent receipts have been rejected for not having revenue stamps and I could not check that yet and tax got deducted from my march salary for 2012-2013 FY year. Before I was in bangalore and never heard of revenue stamp in last 6 years of my career. Right now I am in Hyderabad.
Can I claim my HRA while filing e-return ?
Yes you can claim HRA while filing your return of income on or before 31st July,2013 and then claim the refund. However please ensure that you keep proper rent receipts with the revenue stamps with you, so that if your case comes up for scrutiny you may be able to produce teh rent receipts.
You can take Refund for the same While filling of Income Tax Return..

if your case come up for scrutiny and you are unable to produce the rent recepts to the AO the whole of the HRA that was claimed u/s 10(13A) will be added back to yourt axable income and tax will be required to be paid on it.
