Hi

I have completed my BE(EEE)  with 74% and currently working in an MNC - IT company, Just planning to do an MBA, but instead of MBA can i prepare for CA ?

As i dont have a commerce background would it be feasible if i do CA now ? , i was thinking that companies prefer CA with commerce background in UG/PG rather than non commerce backgrounds?

If i can go ahead with CA, can i skip CPT ?

Please advise, this would be a great help so i can try switching my career.

Thanks

Srinivas

Hello, You can very well do CA if you want to, Academic background does not matter if you are willing ot work hard.. Yes you can skip CPT under the new direct entry scheme where you have to register for the course, Complete the Information tech course-100 hours,&orientation training-35 hours(Compulsory).. and then join for articleship...On completion of 9 months of articleship you'll be eligible for writing IPCC exams..For more details refer to the institute website.

Coming to the background again.. Work on the basics of the commerce subjects.. Your knowledge and your work experence that you gain through articleship are the only things that matter,,,Not your graduation discipline. All the Best.

Hi Mr. Srinivas

As concern as my knowledge, those who have adequate amount of knowledge of CA Curriculum (both theory and Practical) can enjoy good professional life. Even Engineering students have achieved a lot in Finance Stream by completing CA. In CA, knowledge matters more than qualification.

All the best !!

Thanks and Regards
