You can just inform your friend to focus on his studies and not to keep thinking of the outcome of the result. The more he keeps thinking he is bound to have two way tensions. One to control his emotions of what will be re-verification result and secondly unable to concentrate on studies.
Here, no one can give a definitive answer or try being an astrologer. It will take time for his application to get processed, roughly 6 - 8 weeks time. He must simply align all his efforts into studies and hope for the best.
Good luck to your friend.
