Authority Letter to Attend Scrutiny 143(2)

There is no specific format.A signed  power of attorney(affixed with some Court fee Stamps) in favour of the person(s) who attends to proceedings on behalf of the assessee will do.

The question is the Stamp paper is necessary?

Is this will be ok if the assessee signed a simple letter stating I’m authorized mr/mrs xyz to handle my case with income tax. Someone told me to do like this.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi, is there any specific format of the authority letter which enable a person to attend the  Income Tax officer on behalf of Assessee.
