Am i really useless ?

there is no  use in getting depressed..    this is all  about a any professional life. we cant become smarter by one day.try to learn by ourselves.we have to walk through  thick and thin  to  become a good professional .u  still under training only...  this is all  comes under this part.......

try to identify you weak areas and improve on that  rather  than wasting time on depression..all  can give advices  only  which includes  me  which i am rightly  doing now...its you have to work on and move head.  dont  be get depressed  by  these things

Dont , worry , this is ur learing stage it happens to every one , just keep positive attiude towards ur work ,just try to understand the concepts of audits , prepair urself by going through various conepts before u go for audit. and dont feel shy to ask any thing  which u dont know. every one of us has goan through this stage. best of luck

Depression..!

i am Fighting this since long for reasons out of my control...

You are Far better ,don be depressed ,because life is Big game ,articleship is small issue and moreoever ,the problem u r dealing with is certainly in control.

I just wanna share some instance of my articleship period...

I had been to office ,on day 1....My auditor directed me to an audit...Na check list na kuch....

The situation worsened cos ,we had no other resource person other than me myself to do such kind of  work..So atleast the options to ask for others advice get eliminated...

Precisely i had joined a Firm ,where i plan the work ,execute and ofcourse Auditor is gonna see some minimal issues which dont carry any weight....on Signing! or approving...

it took a lot of pain every new assignment...

under such Circumstances,what are u supposed to do.

These are ur following Freinds.

1)internet a best source -for check list sort of thing.

2)The Great swami vivekananda Told..Study or get educated in such a way that,how things can be implemented practically...u need to think practically..wen u work ,for that u need to be conceptually strong...

3)unlike ur Firm ,my firm dint ve any resource person....u ve people in ur firm atleast whom u can call and ask for....but beware,u cant cant ask each silly thing...First apply ur mind,prepare what to speak vi a phone or whatever...u need to make them understand ur doubt..not beat around the bush.

4)As far as people thinking u don knw anything...if that is true i wanna congragulate you..Guess Why?

Accept criticism-Be patient- tats how u will grow..

5)Confidence Comes from being open to the problem ,not knowing every damn thing.This opennes will come if u start think practically.

6)Don knw attitude with clinet- change it to " ill Let u knw Sir",research ,get ur specific doubts clarrified from seniors,without killing much of their time...

i don wanna u to sleep depressed....Cos u don ve to be,,,

What u r thinking is not Depression ,its struggle...

The Man Edison Failed thousand times ,He dint give up at the age of 67 ...He discovered Bulb...People criticized him...You are perhaps in ur early 20's who should be more depressed u or edison...

dont b so much depressed u havent done anything wrong n first ofall dont call urself useless as ur nt atall useless....

n u have lost one opportunity still der are many if no one teaches just try to learn urself by observing ppl around u and reading from books apply ur bookish knowledge....be determined n confident u dont need to bluff nythin...u dont knw its okay no prob as ur der to learn things ur not an expert slowly n steadily u will b an expert but for dat u will b facing many hurdles lik dis.....dont b depressed at this wont let u to move ahead.......n those who say dat sanjana dont knw anythin show dem that sajnana knows evrything and c is capable to doing things have faith in urself u can do it.......n if u prove urself in one area definately more opportunities will come.......

hi sanjana,i know its easy to say than to face the situation bt dear it happens,and beginings r always toughest.u hv not lost an opportunity,u hv gained an insight into things which u dont know,u hv cum to know ur weakest area,nw that u know where u lack what all u need to do is mk ur weakness ur strongest points,do lil more hard work and soon whole world will b behind u,u shud b thankful to those who insulted u bcoz nw just tighten up ur belt ,get up with ur head firmly hed on ur shoulders and show ur real worth to them by working on ur weaker areas,nw that u r into different team prove them all wrong,and dont worry dear it happens,even v tk tym to adjust in a new class and this enviroment is so new to u,its ok,jst hv confidence on ur abilities and work lil more hard,go into deepest depth of ur wrk,try to know what all u r doing,if u dont get instructions then u can use net,books to gather knowledge and hv a grip on the things,its not that difficult just that u got to b well versed wid ur wrk,just lil more hard wrk and u'll b among the toppest members of ur team........................

 Remember you are doing a professional course. i.e you have to guide others. For this you must be a self-driven personality.  BY going through your 'complaint' that no body guided and left you alone  it is not really axptable  i.e. should not have been highlighted . Instead at this point of time you should have raised valid ?s and demonstrated your capabilities . then your superiors would have realised your intrinsic worth.

Now how to bring out your intrinsic worth is ?.

keeping the fact that you are in audit profession I suggest you,

remember the fundamental principle in accounts ...i.e where there is debit there is credit.

Now while auditing whenever you found something incorrect OR not clear then immediately how 'THISSU' must have reflected in other side of accounbtancy. If so ? is that. Thus you gain knoiwledge. When you sought clarification whenver you did not get convincing answer for this definitely  Ur superiors would have appreciated. for your analytical skills.  

This is eactly ? is the reason you could not answer whenever you are asked any ?. Had adopted the approach of identifying the compensating errors that must have been made to ensure debit=credit you could have easily answered any ? that must have been put.

This same thing happened with me when i was fresher..and it was my first bank audit...nobody helped me..my sir never explained me anything ....But remember one thing ...articleship is to learn step by step,so don't loose hope.

If you don't know anything, or facing any problem at the time of audit..frankly ask to you sir,

Interact with your CA friends...

note down the queries and ask any knowledgeable person.

LIFE is a LEARNING PROCESS.....not only you, many articles face this problem....after going through all the replies, i would say

OPEN YOUR MOUTH and ask for what u want from your seniors and bosses. Discuss with articles in other firms, even this website is amazingly useful.....

one becomes expert in audit when he gains confidence & experience....one can not teach you every thing

they can just guide you....so it happened with me also...in my times,rule was to send only one person

so that he doesnt chit chat & work more....when u r new & dont know the answer than just tell that person

sir plz send ur querries via mail..than u can take help of books , friends & atlast our google..

at last when u learn & read theory for exam purpose than think that you have to implement it practically

in life.....for eg you learn SA 505 initial engagement opening balance than no body will tell u that

first step in audit is to check opening bal...try to remember theory & implement it in practical

where u r stucked take help of seniors & books.

be patient & always give reply to whosoever approaches u.. after doing r & d with books & google

I know that i cannot be spoon fed all the time... i dun want them to do dat also...!!

I will learn , it mght take time but i will..!!

My only problem is that, since i have nil experience, i might not have covered every aspect of audit.... and when being questioned by my seniors related to the same, i dun have any answer coz i havent dealt with it... So i say i dun know or i havent covered it...!!

The I DONT KNOW is what is bothering them and creating a bad impression on me...!! 

I will learn dats not a problem, but expecting to know everything frm the beginning is what is pressurizing me...!!

dear its common wid all,u can b a step ahead of ur seniors by doing ur home work,whatever assingment is given to u just try to read abt it thru net or books,what all r the critical areas,what one must know and all this is part of struggle everybody goes thru it.just b well versed wid things thats it.
