Though the forms would be available by month end, but this time the last date for paying SAT would align with the extended date of filing ITR (unless there is any notification from ITD).

Login with pan and pay tax.

You can compute yourself and pay it.

.no need for ITr to compute SA tax . You can cross check later

@ Sushant Bidaye

Good morning.

@ Neha and many others would like to see the Self Assessment Tax calculated by the ITR-2 Form before paying to avoid repeated hassles.

Seeing the anxiety of all honest tax payers, CPC should relese the ITR-2/3 at the earliest. Especially pertinent for Senior Citizens, who are filing themselves and are not in perfect health all the time.

@ Sabyasachi Mukherjee

@ Neha must be fully aware of how to pay tax online.

What she is implying is, CALCULATION of the SAT, before paying it.

Hope it is clear to you

How? i use the itr online to compute and pay accordingly, is there any other way to compute it?

Sir, some sites saying that if any due is there it should be paid before 31st july even if the filing date is sept 15 ...m not sure if they mean SAT or something else.

@ Neha

Check the link from Economic Times.

https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/wealth/tax/itr-filing-due-date-extended-but-deadline-to-pay-final-tax-without-penalty-is-july-31-or-sept-15-now-for-fy-2024-25/articleshow/122018340.cms?from=mdr

It says, and also, Dhirajlalji already wrote, SAT without penalty can be paid till the extended filing date, which is 15 Sep 2025 now.

So if SAT is paid by 14 Sep 2025, it should be okay [provided I-T Dept does not issue any notice to the contrary].

Also, the ITR-2, ITR-3 Forms must be fully ready, except for some final checks [read my post about Hide and seek of these forms], so I expect the same to be available on E Filing Site by Monday, 14 July 2025.

Patiently waiting for the release of ITR-2 , for calculation.

@ Neha and all others

Miracle has happened on 11 July 2025

The ITR-2 and ITR-3 for AY2025-26 have stopped playing hide and seek and are now steady on I-T Portal.

All the best with your SAT payment and filing.

I recommend that the first release of these big ITR2 and ITR3 excel utilities be skipped. Many times, we have seen we end up filling all details in all cells only to notice that when we take it to compile and Calculate Tax or Generate JSON the sheet gives errors due to Macros. It takes 2 or 3 rounds for the releasing team to fix all excel sheet errors properly.

Same maybe true for the Online version.

Moreover, the Income tax department may prefer to keep the Excel sheets with errors to force taxpayers towards the Online wizard option. After 10 or 15 yrs there wont be Excel option at all.

@ Neha, @ All others

Plz read my feedback of 12-07-2025 on trying to tame the beast [ aka ITR-2, AY 2025-26, Version.1.0 Excel Utility ] and replies from some members.

It may take a while to control the beast.

Till that time, it may be risky to use it for calculation of Tax, and therefore, calculation of Self Assessment Tax.

Recommend waiting for a week, as Version 1.1 of the Excel utility may arrive by that time.
