Age limit for ca final exam?

Final 1889 views 3 replies

I passed Std X CBSE Board exams in 1977 with 82% marks, Std XII Board exams in 1979 with 76% marks, B.Com(H) in 1982 from St Xavier's College, Kolkata in First Class, passed CA Entrance in 1981, CA Inter (Both groups) in 1st attempt in 1982, completed articleship training in 1983, and appeared for CA Final (Both groups) in May 1984.

I passed in all subjects of both groups, but could not get the required aggregate of 400. I was declared PASSED in Group I only, and FAILED in Group II.

As it was my first and only failure in life till then, I was very disheartened, and swore never to attempt for CA again. I burnt all my documents and certificates to ashes. I have no records with me now.

I left studies completely and started my own business in 1984, and am the Mg Director of my own Company now.

However, the absence of a professional degree on my visiting card rankles me.

Is there any provision in CA course under which I can still complete my course for which I gave 3 valuable years of my life.

Please advise.

Thanx in advance for your suggestions.

Sir,

There is no age limit for study. And CA is a course which you can complete at any age n with the experience one  is having it is better to pursue and complete once you have decided and determined ,

You may contact ICAI at Russel street and proceed further.

Thanks ,

Hi Anoop,

You remind me of my attempt. I too passed CA(Inter) at the first attempt. Subsequently, attempted CA(Final)-both groups; passed in all subjects, but failed in the aggregate in group II by 20 marks. If I had scored the 20 marks, I would have have made it to the rank. Got pissed off and skipped the second attempt, but then regained my composure and attempted group II a year after writing both groups together. Passed and became a CA in 1993.

Go for it! Age is no barrier from ICAI's side.
