I am with LIC of India, working as Administrative Officer. I am a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India and a Bachelor of General Law. Have worked in Insurance operations, Legal department of LIC and have been an internal auditor of LIC.

I propose to record my observations on Section 201(1)(a)of the Income Tax Act, based on a Case Law. The present practice of charging interest on late payment is against the spirit of the judgment.
