The RBI is introducing the '.bank.in' domain to curb digital fraud, bolster cybersecurity, and enhance public confidence in the financial sector's digital services.
The Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) has been authorised by the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) to serve as the exclusive registrar for the '.bank.in' domain.
All banks are advised to complete their migration to the '.bank.in' domain no later than October 31, 2025.
Banks can contact the IDRBT at sahyog@idrbt.ac.in to begin the registration process and receive guidance on the application and migration.
The main goal is to strengthen the cybersecurity framework and increase trust and transparency in digital banking and payment systems.
