The MCA is proposing amendments to widen the scope of fast track mergers under Section 233 of the Companies Act 2013.
A draft notification and explanatory note proposing the amendments have been placed on the website of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (www.mca.gov.in).
Comments and suggestions on the draft amendment rules can be submitted through the e-Consultation Module on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs website.
The deadline for submitting comments and suggestions is the 5th of May, 2025.
Fast track mergers are provided for under Section 233 of the Companies Act 2013, which allows for mergers or amalgamations of certain companies with the approval of the Central Government, delegated to Regional Directors.
