The NPOP is a set of standards and requirements that organic products must meet for production, processing, packing, and labelling to be exported from India. It has been implemented by APEDA since 2001.

The European Union and Switzerland recognise India's NPOP certification, allowing for the export of unprocessed plant products without additional certification. This equivalency also facilitates exports to the United Kingdom post-Brexit.
