Over the past few days, several reports across media and social platforms claimed that the Government was planning to establish a separate authority to conduct professional examinations, including the CA exams. These reports quickly gained traction, leading to confusion, anxiety, and panic among students preparing for the upcoming May 2026 CA examinations.

ICAI's Official Stand
Taking serious note of the situation, ICAI issued a clear statement terming these reports as factually incorrect and misleading. The Institute emphasized that:
- There is no official confirmation from the concerned Ministry regarding such a proposal
- The viral news clips lack authenticity and should not be relied upon
- CA examinations will continue to be conducted as per the existing system

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has come across certain news reports circulating in sections of the media/ social media regarding the proposal moved by the Government for making a new authority to conduct CA Examinations along with certain other professional examinations. The aforesaid News Item has created widespread confusion, chaos and panic amongst the students pursuing the course and preparing for the upcoming May

ICAI has taken note of the matter and it is clarified that, the information presented in the said
news clip is factually incorrect and not supported by any official confirmation from the
Ministry concerned.
In view of the above, students and stakeholders are advised not to be influenced by such
