Shri K. Rajaraman, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, signed on behalf of the Government of India, and Mr. Christian Kettel Thomsen, Vice-President, signed on behalf of the EIB.

The EIB had approved a total loan of Euro 600 million for the Pune Metro Rail project.

The financing will help fund the construction and operation of Corridor 1 (PCMC to Swargate) and Corridor 2 (Vanaz to Ramvadi), totalling about 31.25 km, and the purchase of related metro cars.

Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (MAHAMETRO) is the implementing agency for this project.
