The Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs) has announced that deposits made under the Special Deposit Scheme (SDS) for Non-Government Provident, Superannuation, and Gratuity Funds will earn an interest rate of 7.1% for the second quarter of the financial year 2025-26.
The revised rate, notified via F. No. 5(3)-B(PD)/2023 dated 2nd July 2025, will apply to deposits made during the period from 1st July 2025 to 30th September 2025. This scheme, originally established through Notification No. F.16(1)-PD/75 dated 30th June 1975, aims to provide a secure investment avenue for retirement and welfare funds maintained by non-government entities.

The interest rate remains unchanged from the previous quarter, reflecting the government's intent to offer stable and competitive returns amid evolving macroeconomic conditions.
