The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is undertaking a review of its current Confidentiality Regime, as outlined in Regulation 35 of the CCI (General) Regulations, 2009. This review stems from practical experience and challenges encountered during enforcement. A draft proposal for a Confidentiality Ring and revised Regulation 35 is now available on the CCI website for public consultation, with comments due by May 12, 2021.
In light of experience gained and difficulties faced in enforcement of the present Confidentiality Regime as provided in Regulation 35 of the Competition Commission of India (General) Regulations, 2009, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has decided to review the extant mechanism.

The CCI is reviewing the Confidentiality Regime due to experience gained and difficulties faced in enforcing the current mechanism under Regulation 35 of the CCI (General) Regulations, 2009.
A detailed draft proposal for establishing a Confidentiality Ring and a draft of the revised Regulation 35 of the General Regulations are being put forward for public consultation.
