State Taxes and Excise Restructured into Two Wings

Extension of Himachal Pradesh Sadbhawana Legacy Cases Resolution Scheme

Simultaneously, the Cabinet has approved the extension of the third phase of the Himachal Pradesh Sadbhawana Legacy Cases Resolution Scheme, 2023. Effective from January 1, 2024, to March 31, 2024, this extension is designed to expedite the resolution of pending assessment cases and arrears. The cases, previously mired in litigation or awaiting assessment under the Acts subsumed under GST, will now undergo a comprehensive settlement process.

The move is poised to bring relief to taxpayers, accelerate the clearance of pending cases, and contribute to the overall simplification of the tax assessment framework. The government's commitment to resolving legacy cases underscores its dedication to creating a business-friendly environment and fostering economic growth.

Approval for Ropeway Development in Kullu District to Boost Tourism and Connectivity

Recognizing the pivotal role of infrastructure development in fostering tourism, the Cabinet has greenlit the development, operation, and maintenance of a Ropeway from Nature Park Mohal to Bijli Mahadev Temple in the Kullu district. This ambitious project aims to enhance connectivity and promote tourism in the region.

The profits generated from the Ropeway venture will be shared equally between the Union and State Governments, emphasizing collaborative efforts to stimulate economic growth through the tourism sector. The project aligns with the government's vision to boost regional development and create sustainable infrastructure for the benefit of local communities.

Memorandum of Understanding with National Dairy Development Board for Milk Processing Plant

In a bid to diversify its economic portfolio, the Cabinet has approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Dairy Development Board. This collaboration is focused on consultancy services for the establishment of an automated milk processing plant at Dhagwar in the Kangra district.

The proposed plant, with a capacity of 1.50 lakh litres per day (expandable up to 3 LLPD), is envisioned to revolutionize the dairy industry, fostering increased production and creating value-added products. The partnership with the National Dairy Development Board reflects the government's commitment to promoting agricultural growth and enhancing the livelihoods of farmers in the region.
