ICAI cancels July 2021 CA Exams in Kathmandu, Nepal

ICAI has decided to cancel the July 2021 CA Examinations in Kathmandu, Nepal due to the strict lockdown and accompanying restrictions in the country. However, the schedule in all other cities/centres shall remain the same.

In their representation letter to ICAI, these students have cleared that this is not a legal representation and have listed 4 reasons as to why such an extension or an unconditional opt out facility is a need of the hour.

CA Exams 2021: ICAI modifies Opt Out Criteria after Supreme Court's Order

Any candidate who personally or whose family member has been affected by COVID-19 and as a result of which, the candidate is unable to appear for the exams, can avail the Opt Out facility. In this case, no RT-PCR Report shall be required.

CA Exams 2021: No RT-PCR Required for Opting Out of the July 21 CA Exams - Read SC's Order

A Bench comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Aniruddha Bose directed ICAI to give the opt out option to all candidates who are facing any COVID-related difficulty, purely on the basis of a medical certificate.

ICAI has extended the Opt Out Facility to candidates who have recently suffered from COVID-19 or are yet to recover from the after effects of COVID-19. Moreover, opt out has also been given to students whose examination centres have been changed by ICAI.

CA Exams 2021: SC suggests ICAI to Relax Condition of RT-PCR Certificate - Decision Regarding Opt Out to be given on 30th June 2021

Justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Aniruddha Bose on 29.06.2021 confirmed that it will not pass any directions to ICAI to postpone the July 2021 CA Exams. The court will take a decision on the student's plea regarding opt out on 30.06.2021.
