Basic customs duty & health cess to be waived off on oxygen & oxygen related equipment

PM chairs a high-level meeting on measures to increase the supply of oxygen & oxygen related equipment. Covid related vaccines to be exempted from basic customs duty. These measures will boost the availability of these items as well as make them cheaper.

Custom officials seized Rs 98 crore heroin at IGI Airport

The recovered goods and concealing & packing materials were seized under Section 43 of the NDPS Act, 1985 for violation of Section 8 and 23 of the Act ibid as these were found to be liable for confiscation under Section 60 of the NDPS Act, 1985.

CBIC determines rate of exchange of foreign currencies w.e.f 16th April 2021

CBIC determines the rate of exchange of conversion of each of the foreign currencies specified in column (2) of each of Schedule I and Schedule II annexed hereto, into Indian currency or vice versa, with effect from 16th April 2021.
