Interest on TDS is penalty but why interest on service tax is not penal
It has been said that interest on service tax is compensatory in nature but at the same time Interest on TDS is considered to penal in nature and accordingly disallowed therefore my quetion is that what are the criteria to decide which interest is in penal and which one is compensatory
