sorry to hear the state you are in. but dont blame others, let us blame ourselves. i think the gold inside you needs some more heating and beating to bring out the purest form. do it brother. my best wishes are with you.

and yes please never insult the profession you are in. though it may fetch nothing to you but still dignity matters a lot than money. calling yourself a CA is a huge thing.

Mr. Prateek, I know it is very depressing but the fact is we have to face the faqct. We cannot continue to look upon Institute to provide us with placements. Yes, I agree with your other rhing that is reservation. But instead of wasting your time thinking about these negative things, I recommend you to take a vacation of 3-4 days then come back and focus on your best subjects - Improve your knowledge and side by side if possible get up work in a good CA firm, so that you are up to date with relevant happenings in our field. BEST OF LUCK in your quest and please don't lose heart.

I totally agree with you. Even I am also in the situation as of yours. I was qualified in Nov 2011 but dint get job till now. 

Cant figure out where the problem lies. I applied everywhere possible but have not got any calls yet.

Even CA firms are saying they dont need CA. Such statement is so disappointing. :-(  

Now what to do??

                             totally agreed with u........situation of urs is good compare to me..i m may passed out and unemployed.....all these happening due to almost 5 times supply of demand.

Do try harder in finding the Job. Don’t be selective for the city or profile. Occupy yourself at any place and simultaneously think what are your interest area and where you want the expertise and change your job as soon as you got what you were upto. While you are earning, always look out for your expected job (get internet connection and spend 2 hours a day) It is not possible that no one is looking for a CA.

It is shame that  campuses are flop it is because the member in industries are idol they do not promote the profession and Institute is interested in Rs. 1000 irrespective of the Short-listing.

Am expecting for my group i result, not getting any good job.....what to do? i have posted resume almost in all jobsite, but no response! 

	i have to post the mesage from this newly created ac because i'm not able to retrive my password of my old ac.   I passed my ca in nov 2011 and i am ashamed to be called a ca, though i cleared only the first group in 3rd attempt, the second one in first attempt itself..... looking at the situation of job market i recommend people to quit ca if possible because the glory of the profession is lost, i know there might be some who do not agree with me, but the fact is more than half of the people who cleared in nov 2011 are un/under employed. the institute earlier had cheap articles, and now they have the cheapest cas.   inspite of doing graduation from one of the top 10 colleges in India and IFRS certification, and done audits of 1-2 listed co's from small firm andstill i haven't got a single call from any company/big4 etc. i advise everyone to have strong jack/refrence if you want to pursue ca or pass in merit to brighten up your chance else you are doomed like me. i may sound a bit depressing but what i am writing is the truth. Institutes campus has been and hopefuly be flop because of numerous reasons, the schocking thing is that CA rajkumar adukia who is the chairman of cmii doesn't himself know what he is speaking, being a fresher he asks us to apply for jobs which require 5 years of exp, thats what he said in our convention.    the worst part is the real discrimination psus do to general cateogory students whereas dummy student of some obc etc get selected, my aim is not to harm anyones feelings, but how is reservation in job justified even after completing ca, the so called the toughest course in the world???   god also doesn't know what these stupid council members are upto, looking at the trend i think the day is not far away when ca and engineers will be at par.

Indeed toughness is lying in your mind.....................first of all Change your attituted, Beceause our life is mere reflection of our thoughts and attitued.

for better option pls go for some good consultants...........

icai should  take some measures to Reduce growing unemployment of qulaified CAS

1. entrance exam to ca should be on par with IIMS/IITs

2. revamp the exisiting syallbus

3. introduce specialisation papers at final level like in MBA courses

Giving due regards to your suggestions, additional requirement is the change in the articleship pattern.

Actually the students from small cities can not have the exposure required during articleship (especially girls face a lot of problems)and when they come to bigger cities for the job they feel despair that is when they begin to recognise their mistake.

Their should be a uniformity in the articleship pattern wherein every student have equal opportunities for the work experience. There should be some institutes which provide practical trainings and workshops (may be by BIG 4s).

If you dont respect your profession, the profesison will not respect you. I'll just qoute some thing from your post only.

1.  Ashamed of being CA - There are many students who are not able to clear the CA and they quit. To become a CA is a dream of lot of students and not all of them clear CA. So, if you are ashamed of being CA, why dont you surrender your degrees to ICAI. Why dont you surrender your Results. There are lot of things to do in this world apart from job or practice as a CA. If you can't get job, its not the course of ICAI's or the profession's problem. The way you are blaming these things, i think its your Attitude problem.

2.  Unemployed CA's - What all statistics are you talking about, it is a myth. I dont any CA cleared in Nov 2011 being unemployed. I agree there might be few who dont, but this does not mean the profession is not good. 

3.  Cheap Articles / Cheapest CA's - Regarding articleship, we dont work for earning money during articleship. We are doing training. And if you just keep on comparing the money and work accordingly, you wont become successful in you life, forget about the professional success. If you think your articeship was cheap, you will definitely be cheapest CA only because of your attitude.

4.  Flop Campus Interviews - This is your look out. If you look at the statistics, I dont think any campus of ICAI has been flop ever. 

5.  Cast / Reservation - If any one else gets a preference of his cast for job, it is not the problem of profession.

At last, please stop blaming any council member. These council members work for the betterment of ICAI, its students, its members and the Profession. So before talking anything about them, first try to understand their responsibilities. They handle the affairs of ICAI along with their own Professional Commitments.

I hope you and every aggrieved CA and everyone who is reading this, gets my point.

If ICAI is charging Rs. 1000 from every CA for campus, it has to make all necessary arrangements for the students for the interviews. What do you think every thing including the venues for the Campus Placement Orientation Programmes, the venues for Campus, etc all is free for ICAI. About the funds received by ICAI, ICAI annual accounts are open to all the members. You can very well check the accounts when they are published. Still you can file an appication under RTI. I am sure, you'll not get anything other than this.
