dear members,
i'd like to ask u something.
i completed my BCom in 2007. got thro Gr2 of PE2 in Nov 2007 and will be appearing in May08 for Gr1.
I'm 21 and this year will be an all-crucial year for me. My those friends, who weren't doin CA and who appeared for CAT/MAT/XAT 2007, have started getting into b-schools. Whereas i have many examples in front of me who havent been able to qualify CA Final yet. Not that they're not working hard enough/didnt work hard. In spite of hard work, is it still an uncertain path? I am a bit confused regarding which way shud i go. Should i join a CAT coaching, and start preparing for CAT and get into MBA where at least i shall be sure that i will get through within 2 years. Bcoz even if i qualify PE2 in May08, then thr is high chance that i may not get through CA Final after completion of articleship. At that point of time, it will be too late for me to get into a full time mba.

Hi ! I use to think in the similar way in d final year of Grad, when all my frnd got into MBA. Being a ca is not only Degree. It's value addition for lifetime. After Ca even if u dont get employment u can start ur own practise.this type of security can't be given by IIM's also. if u a MBA .intelligent people wil ask u from which INSt..not in the case of CA. even if takes time u will earn far better than ur frnd... Risk is everywhere...Trust ur potential... and have patience... don't flow away with d peer pressure... After becoming a CA u can go for mba similarly like IItian go fro MBA... Blend of technical expertise with management skills is a sharp edge.... i being an average student could qualify ca bcoz i hv the patience... even the best student of my classs qualified after 1 yr...of me becoming ca... bcoz he was very versatile... sometimes 2 much versality kills.... Most of Ca student dont hv patience ...this is d main cause of failure... u want to achieve everything before d age of 30.. after that is the world is going to be destroyed...thsi is what u youngster think after all everything is in the hand of destiny.. then y to worry. Chitra, THERE's NO OPTION here. AGE is on your side. you miss this chance for B-School, its gone forever, Whereas CA is not like that. Even after finishing B-School and marriage, you can still study CA if you want to. GO FOR B-SCHOOL friend. STUDY by the side for CA - PE II. There is always dummy articleship option.Dont waste time. Even intellgent students dont clear CA. Bye.
Dear Chitra , I can just suggest you few things but still decission is yours. Never Compare CA with any other course . It has its own reputation in the world. Indian Chartered Accountants are well appreciated thrrough out World. If you have confidence and faith in you then take it up seriously and complete it within your article. There r N no. of example where students have completed in first attempt with rank. Den why not you ????? If you feel unsecure den leave CA n join MBA. But in that too r u sure about getting a good rank in CAT ? If no then again u will be waisting your time. If have patience then join CA n have aim to complete it in First attempt and be proud to Say u r a CA. I would like to know about your decission
dost think on one course at a time.this is the same mistake i hhad committed in the past and as a result of that i had one full complete year in getting my degree for chartered accountancy
chitra 1st work hard & complete ca pe 2 this may after ur exams u go for CAT coaching for short term work hard there and get good score all the best

dear chitra , when u will come after finishing B school and will join any organisation then u will find the importance. A CA can isolate whole company where as MBA's cant.

You look at the people who haven't cleared CA....

There are many who have cleared in first attempt...its upto you what you choose to look!!!

But firstly decide what you want..keep faith and trust God..and go get it!!!

With full dedication, devotion, discipline and hard work you'll definitely succsceed
