What is the concept of GST?

GST is a proposed unified taxation system to replace multiple taxes in the indirect side. Goods as well as services would be combined.
It would also help the honest tax payer/ exporters/ reduce the cost of compliance and the revenue cost of collection.
In India it is expected that the same would be in the form of central GST and state GST.
