intraday trading means purchasing and selling of shares on the same day...

if you not sell the shares purchased on the same day it will automatically sold at market rate

SEE INTRADAY TRADING MEANS BUYING AND SELLING ON THE SAME DAY.PROFIT OR LOSS FROM THAT ACTIVITY IS SPECULATIVE PROFIT/LOSS.

intra means within.            so intraday means within day u wind up all ur position weather long or short on shares, futures or options.

its simple rey.....intraday means u sell d share within d same day.its generally with a view to gamble.

intraday tranction means securities deal in same or next day and it is speculative nature of business

and shuold be treated as othersources income of  the income tax act .

The transactions of sale and purchases which are wind up in the same day are called intraday trades. It means that trader has not taken delivery of such transaction.

As explained by all,Intraday trading is speculating for gains by buying/selling and squaring off those buy/sell positons on the same day..

Procedure is same as for other type of trades,ie,Deliveries/BTST/STBT.But the difference is that in Intraday, positions are to be cleared on the same day.

Thanks all for your views. From the discussion I found that:

1. Sale / purchase Same day

2. Profit Calculation at the day end

3. Any profit and loss amount (in cash) we need to pa the same day.

4. Shares will be actually  purchased and sold same day.

5. If not sold those will be automatically sold at the day end at closing price of share.

But what will happen if in the case of loss, the difference amount is not in the account of trader.

Hi Nidhi

In my opinion the shares will not be automatically sold at the day end at closing price of share unless u will instruct your broker to sell the shares. If u will not instruct to sell the shares,  the shares will not be sold and the delivery will be given to you in your demat account.

Second thing is that in case of loss, the trader will bear the loss in his own account.

Dear Friends may i know how the intra day transaction is beneficial for an investor.

First of all,Inraday trading is not an investment...so persons in it are better known as traders, not investors.. :)

Intraday trading is just buy/sell of securities to  make some quick money. It is more based on technicals, news based, stock momentum..rather than fundamentals.

Benefit is just that traders can look for quick money in no time..dats all..but it needs a lot of study and experience and also appetite to bear losses.
