WAY TO GO….

A probationary officer with the State Bank of India, he rises to become its deputy General Manager. Posted to USA and having travelled extensively to different parts of the world, he picks an amazing repertoire of knowledge and experience.

The banker at heart, now in the evening of his career, gives it all up to join a non-banking finance company. A few years later, at age 59, he resigns so that he could pursue a ‘Childhood Ambition’. Believe it or not, he decides to do CA, yes, Chartered Accountancy. His friend’s look at him with askance, their body language tells it all!

Undaunted, he goes through the contours of Articleship, does everything that a wannabe CA would do, toils upwards in the night for exams, battles with minds that are about 40 years younger than his. And in JAN 2002, days before he turns 60, he becomes a Chartered Accountant!
