Validating Bank account on E filling data

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses issues validating bank account details on the Income Tax e-Filing portal, particularly after a bank merger. Users are encountering errors like 'Account Holder name invalid' and 'Refund cannot be credited' despite ensuring names match across PAN, Aadhaar, and bank records. The conversation explores potential causes including delays in data updates from PAN/Aadhaar to 26AS, bank integration with NPCI, and the necessity for identical personal details (name, mobile, email) across all platforms for successful validation.

You are right, the mobile number and email id should be the same in the portal as well as the bank. In the case of banks not integrated with NPCI validation may take time.

Name Email ID and mobile number are same in Bank as well as Income tax portal.

In future what the income tax department might do for foolproof validation will be that everything in Income tax portal should match with the bank as follows:

First Name, Middle Name, Last Name

Date of Birth

Aadhaar Number

PAN Number

Email address

Mobile number

All the above will need to match with the Income tax website with the bank.
