This is my second part of article. M very happy tht people appreciated my last article abt info tech.

so here is it my analysis abt costing….

Costing this is easy bt logical sub. Thtsy itna easy hote hue bhi its remain complicated.

My view

v I hav taken P.C.tulsian book.

v Its gud bt lengthy need time 2 do .

v It lacks gud explanation on marginal n std costing which creates a gud base for 10 marks atleast.it was upto fyn for tht chp.

v So I refered makkar sir notes. It has a gud base in marginal , std ,n also budgeting.

v Well I wil prefer rajesh makkar sir notes over this book for these chp.

v Overhead is a chp which shouldn’t b focused too much..n its methods as well.i wasted a lots of time. This chp should b done atlast.bcz the topic i hav mentioned above r only imp in this chp. n rest if come it wil b frm theory only, its 4 sure.

v Cant predict the marking base bcz costing is a paper of mix question so cant make exact probability.

v Operating costing is a kinda chp frm which practical q in 2 yrs almost .

v Costing q comes in mix format so cant define wht % of every chp accurately.

b aware ...simple process a/c is also imp.

Good article Palak . But I w'd like to add more to it.

@ O/H- May be it doesn't contain much weightage but it is a very imp. chapter. To have command over costing a complete knowledge of O/H is necessary.

@ Basic Concepts-- You can refer compiler for it. No need to waste time on it.

@ Reconciliation & Integrated A/c's -- well not much imp. chapters but institute can surprise you by asking 8 marks numerical q's from it.

@ Standard, Marginal & Budgetary -- Comprises 20-25 marks paper and I mark it as Institute's Fav.

@ Contract , Process & Operating Costing -- Requires good practice and is very imp. from exam point of view and not much difficult.

@ Material,Labour & O/H-- Basic chapters of Costing.

Best Tip -- To score good marks in Cost + Fm focus more on FM as it is more scoring with less course.
