Tin registration and its purpose

Thanks for all who helped me before.

Now I need to know whether we need register TIN for our company.

Basically our products (electrical and electronics) are imported from outside India.

Is it necessary to have TIN?

How much will it cost?

How long will it take?

What is key purpose of TIN?

(For your information two directors and registered TAN & PAN)
