Is TDS on professional fees on gross amount (that is, including service tax) or net amount

It should be on the gross amount. the language of section 194J states that 'Any Sums paid'. So the amount inclusive of St shall be considered.

section 194 I TDS on Rent it should be on Net amount.....

TDS u/s. 194J is on actual payment made to professional including any taxes or other expenses which is included in Bill amount.

In case of Professional fees bill, altogehter amount TDS is on Gross including pocket expenses, Traveling, etc

Tds is to be deducted on the gross amount that is inclusive of ST only in case of TDS on Rent 194I section the expense is to be taken excluding of ST

Absolutely TDS on Receipts of Proffesional fees as per 194J is in any sum of amout received by the assesee ....it is inclusive of ST....

On rent u/s 194I tax is deducted on gross amount (excluding service tax)
However as per section 194J tds is deducted on total amount (including service tax)
