What to do if a deductor deposits TDS amount to bank mentioning WRONG TAN? Can it be rectified at the banker level or to approach the IT Dept?

Procedure of challan correction (Challan Correction Mechanism)
Usually the bank should not process TDS if TAN no is different and deductor name is different but if the bank has processed then also it is best to ask the bank to enquire about the status.
