Hi ,

My Sister works with SBI from Year 2000 Onwards & Employed in Different locations in 4 year of Interval . She had claimed Refund for AY 2001-2002 , 2002-2003 , 2003-2004 But got no refund . On 2005 Tax department send her demand notice. while her Form 16 had Clearly mentioned about the TDS deduction. On enquire we found her PAN Card's Initial Name was "MR" . Due to which Tax department calculated her Tax as per Male category . We applied for correction in the PAN Name & Got New PAN 03 Month Back . Now from AY 2001 onwards all the Refund due to me are pending. Now how can i get TDS certificate & Duplicate Form 16 Online .

2nd issue is on Form 26AS , we see "U" ------Does it mean Amount deducted not reach to Govt. Then with whom the Amount is lies ?

for 1st issue, when the demand was raised in 2005, the facts were clear to you at that time, and you had to act acordingly , and file revised return or rectification. now its time barred case.

for 2nd issue "U" denotes , unmatched, and you have to get in touch with deductor to correct the etds return for specified entry.
