Someone is misusing my gst no to generate eway and in 2 days time.. cancel it.
and everything happened without us knowing anything.
I came to know when department sent me sms for easy bill generation and then cancelling it.
what should I do?
will this affect us?
why someone misuse our gst to generate fake eway bill?
what keval options I have?
I want to escalate it and punish this fraud
please help me with the information

Hello Manish,
For those who have committed fraudulent activities intentionally w.r.t. the provisions of GST, then he/she shall be liable to pay 100% penalty, i.e. an amount equivalent to the amount of tax evaded or short deducted, subject to a minimum of Rs. 10,000/-. Where there is no fraudulent intent, i.e. the tax evasion is unintentional, then the penalty shall be 10% in this case, subject to a minimum of Rs. 10,000/-.
