I am a chartered accountant.. Then is it mandatory for me to do SIP ???????

You are not required to attend SIP.

Please find attached notification..

This notification  is also available in ICSI.EDU portal.

can an article assistant spent 2.5 years of articleship claim exemption in sip

Articled assistant spent 2.5 years of articleship cannot claim exemption unless he is a qualified CA.

Note: I assume that you are talking about articled training of CA Course.
