Simple suggestions to deal with Exam Failure

Dear Friends,

I would like to start this write-up with a meaningful saying “Failure improves the taste the victory”. Further I’d like to congratulate you all for putting such great effort towards November 2009 CA Exams. Remember Success or Failure is a different thing altogether. Even if you did not do well in exam and got failed, there is really no need to panic now. Obviously it feels terrible but let it be. Failing exams does not make you a failure in life and most importantly it is not the end of world.

ANALYSE YOUR MISTAKE

Now it is high time to realize and analyse your mistakes committed in the exam hall. Don’t hesitate and look within yourself and analyse the reason responsible for your failure. If you honestly follow this advice am sure you’ll be able to draw certain constructive conclusions helping you avoid making the same mistake again.

In this situation self assessment is the best thing to do and believe me only you can help yourself by searching out the best possible solution to your problem.

NEVER LOSE YOUR CONFIDENCE

It’s my humble request to you all that do not lose your confidence just because you got failed in examination. Self confidence is of paramount importance in professional examinations like CA, CS and CWA etc. So I would advise you to be with confident people as a good circle can play a very decisive role in your success as far as question of confidence is concerned. You can easily evaluate the importance of confidence yourself. Just check your confidence level after clearing one group of CA or CS or any other professional examination. Sincerely hope now you can understand what confidence is all about.

IMPORTANCE OF GOOD FRIEND CIRCLE

According to me a good friend circle plays a very important role in one’s life and career growth. A good friend circle also ensures your focus on your goal. So just be with good friends and discuss and share the things with them. This circle also becomes important when you are in some kind of negative situation and helps you to get out of such moments of frustration and prevent you to take a disastrous decision. So it is very important to have a good friend circle.

DO NOT BLAME YOURSELF

In case of exam failure there is no need to blame yourself or your institute or anyone else. It’s all right yaar. Kindly appreciate you are not the only student who got negative result. It happens in professional exams. So nothing to worry about and just move ahead and move with the flow and believe me things will be all right soon.

SUICIDE IS NOT THE SOLUTION

Suicide is not the solution of anybody’s problems. All the problems in this world are of temporary nature with permanent solution. On the contrary I would advise you to love your problems as you can learn a lot from your problems and in fact they are in your life to teach you something really indispensable. I personally feel that suicide is a selfish act, the victims of which are your family, parents and friends who cares for you. The pain of losing someone close can be devastating and reason or circumstances under which you lose that someone doesn’t make any difference. Before committing suicide one must think that there is hope and there is answer to every problem and failure of life. A foolish step can adversely change the life of those around you. Please think about it. I would urge you to be a bit strong in life and stay away from any kind of suicidal tendencies and thoughts.

CONCLUSION

I would like to conclude this write-up by mentioning few lines borrowed from Mr. Robin Sharma’s book – “Sit down now and write out a list of all that you have in your life. Start first with your health or your family - the things we often take for granted. Put down the country we live in and the food we eat. Do not stop until you have written down fifty items. Once every few days, go through this list - you will be uplifted and recognize the richness of your existence.

Hope I’m able to bring something constructive through this brief write up. Impatiently awaiting your kind response on the above mentioned suggestions/points.

Thanks and Regards

Ankur Garg

I perfectly agree with your points. The Point which made me feel good was when you said one should never blame himself or ANYBODY for that matter.

Now a days its become a sort of habit and fashion to speak badly about the Institute or one person in particular without any respect. This sort of attitude for the Current generation says a lot about ones ability to deal with the failures. We want to pass the buck.

This is a perfect Eye opener for all students and they should take this very seriously and put their head down and study well and become a better person and as a consequence an efficient CA / CS / ICWA and why not all of it together.

Nice one Sir.

Shiva

Dear Friends,

Sir, Whatever you're doing with CA PE-II Students its Totally unfair, CA PCC Students passing percentage is above 15% in both groups in every attempts & CA PE-II Students passing percentage is 0.25% in June-09 & 1.26% in Nov-09. Why u doing like this way with CA PE-II Students. CA Institute not want to pass PE-II Students.

Examples :- Think ur both sons are doing CA, one is PE-II student & one is PCC student.both are Hard working Equally in Study, ur PCC Son is passed in 1st or 2nd attempts & another son of PE-II he is not passed last 5 attempts, how u thinking about ur sons. both are sons hard working equally in study,

Please Sir, i want known the solution about this story. Please give me solution as early as possible.

Every PCC student passing quickly & we are not passing last 5 to 6 attempts, its totally unfair with PE-II Students. ur means currently every CPT or PCC student passed & going to quickly C.A. & PE-II students are same place at the end of every exam.

Why Sir, you're doing unfair with CA PE-II Students. you're not want pass pe-ii student, then stop the attempts & say disconnect or convert in to IPCC.

Regards.
I am is one of the PE-II Student.

Dear Lucky do not go for % and work on your skills. You are damaging your efforts and yourself. Don't do this. Just stay away from negative thoughts as they are damaging you and you need to realise this thing. Analyse why are you not in that 1.26% what is required to get there...I'll pray for your success bro...

Friends

I would like to share my experience of failure with you all. I am Cost Accountant with a leading IT Hardware company. I failed 4 times during my ICWA - Inter days, 3 times by less than 4 marks to clear the exam and once I scored between 45 to 50 in all exams. And by the time I had completed my B.Com (H) and started working with a very small manufacturing company.

My boss, when he learnt abt this, had a one to one session with me. He showed me how close I was making to it. Again I searched for my books which I had put into store room. And yes, this time I cleared. After that I passed my Final exams in single attempt. Now I am preparing for my CS Executive exams.

I know it really feel great after bitter failures to taste the success. Success is nothing but failure turned around. Sucess is a very relative term. It has got different meanings to different people. We should give our best shot to anything which is worth doing.

Cheers!!!

Hemant

Dear Lucky, ankur sir is very correct...

Anybody can have knowledge, but its a different thing to create a good impression on examiner.... work on your presentation.. first 2 or 3 minutes of examiner's time is all that our 2 or 3 years of work is going to boil down to...

Those are the golden words of M P V Sir... All the best.. Presentation is the distinct line between passing and failing.... it is a strong indication of your state of mind, composure in the hall, ability to organise your thoughts.

Find below one of my super observation:

If in the initial 1st or 2nd questions you succeed to impress the examiner by your good presentation and writing skills then he will 100% excuse your tiny mistake committed in 5th or 6th question. Benefit would be 3 to 5 marks in toto that can make a huge difference. What Say???
