All the professionals are not required to get themselves registered under the Shop Act, as a separate body regulates the profession. So the Certificate of Practice received from the respective regulator would be sufficient to carry on the dental practice.
For instance in case of Chartered Accountant the COP provided by the ICAI is sufficient to carry on the practice.
Please note that Profession & Business are two different things. So if you are doing an business then the Shop Act Registration is necessary.
However if the total receipts during the crosses the threshold of Rs.10lacs then the registration under the Service Tax Act is required to be made.
