SFT005 in 26as

  • In 26AS under part e  SFT showing sft o05 time deposits for an amount 978151. I have below query:
  • As per act it's normally need to show when amount is 10 lakhs or more. For this case it is below 10 lakh then why in 26as.
  • Second I think I don't need to do anything apart from showing interest income from that in itr 1 filing. Please  confirm.

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies why SFT005 transactions, even for amounts below 10 lakhs, might appear in your 26AS statement. It's confirmed that these entries are primarily for informational purposes, often included by banks to prevent future issues. You do not need to report the SFT transaction itself in your ITR; simply declare the associated interest income.

1. Generally, banks are following this pattern, to avoid any future litigation.

2. Yes, that's correct.

you need not to show SFT transaction in your ITR , They (SFT ) transaction in form 26 AS is just for information and for your action if required.

moreover, you can file your return with interest income.

Thank you all for your value suggestions
