Service tax issue
Hi,
I purchased a flat in jan 2012 and its it's registration is done in march 2012, but at that time builder didn't demand for service tax, building is ready and got OC in oct 2013 , now builder is demanding for service tax and not issuing me possession of a flat, and builder registered his service tax no in dec 2013.
Please suggest me whether I have to pay service tax or not.

if you had purchased a semi furnished flat and there was any construction agreement on paper between you and the builder to make full furnnish flat then you have to pay ST.
and if it was a furnished flat purchased by you then no need to pay ST provided there was clause inserted in agreement on paper between you and builder that owner may need to pay ST if liability arises in future.
