Report in GSTR 1 ( Credit Note ) for Wrong GST Rate Charged

Taxable Value Not Changed but GST Amount to Change

Example : Taxable Value - 10000/-  ---

Wrong GST Rate 18% Charged --  CGST 9% -   Rs. 900/- and  SGST 9% -    Rs.  900/-

Correct GST Rate is  5%     -------  CGST 2.5% - Rs. 250/-  and SGST 2.5% - Rs. 250/-

Excess GST Amount Charged  ----- CGST  - Rs. 650/-  and   SGST   - Rs. 650/- ( Credit Note Value Rs. 1300/- )

Now Question is > Under Credit Note Table,  Which Section to Report of Excess GST Rs, 1300/-  in GST Rate Breakup ( i.e. 5%, 7%, 12%,18% etc )  and What is the Taxable Value ( Because Taxable Value is correct and not to change )

To correct excess tax charged due to a wrong rate without altering the taxable value, report a nil taxable value in the credit note table while adjusting the excess tax amount (Rs. 1,300) against the original tax rate slab (18%) to successfully reconcile your output tax liability.
