Remitting funds abroad for services

Hi,

We are an Indian company based in China and eport goods to our clients in India. To send the payment to us in USD, the client would normally go to his bank, show them the proforma invoice and send the USD. Then once the goods are received, I have been told by clients, that they are supposed to go to bank to the bank within X Months with the Invoice stamped by the customs and submit the same to the bank, to prove that the goods were actually imported.

However, sometimes we have scenarios, where the client has to pay us for a service not import of goods, for e.g. we carry out some supplier verficiation work for them, or they need to pay us documentation charges for change of documents or any other "service related work". In this case, there will be no actual import of goods by our client. So I was wondering what are the bank rules in this scenario? How can they client send us USD, as after X months, he want have any paperwork to show imports?

I am sure, there must be procedures in place for sending such payment, as several companies in India pay Service based companies abroad. Would appreciate any help.

This is purely a commercial query which I prefer not to answer.
Please hire the service of a professional.

Dear Mr. Rajesh: This is not a commercial forum and is designed for free information sharing, that is the basic guiding principal of information sharing in a "community" based environment, i.e. a forum, where people help each other learn and grow. Based on the help provided, many people would make the decision to hire the servicesof the professional answering their queries. However, if you are not interested in giving back to the community (which I am sure has also given a lot to you in the form of free information available on these forums) you can simply choose not to respond to a post, rather than post to say "I have nothing to post".

Ramesh Ji, Thanks a lot for your help and link, however the link doest seem to be working. Once I open it, it redirects to a different link and I get a page not found error. Can you copy one or two lines from the page here, so that I can find the link via google. Many thanks for your help.

You can issue service invoice to them, which they can remit.
